So I had this grand ol’ idea of what this blog was going to be for and what I was going to do with it and how to format and showcase things and blah blah blah.
Seeing as it has been since January (and it is now June) since I last posted, obviously this idea didn’t work out for me.
Something that I know about myself is that I like to plan things. But also I know that once I plan how something is “supposed” to be done, I have a lot of trouble doing it any other way, so if faced with wanting to do something but finding I don’t have the time to do it the way it is “supposed” to be done, I will just put it off and off and off and not do it. Then I will have this thing looming that I wanted to do but I still don’t have the time to do “correctly” and then I feel bad about waiting so long to do a thing, having put it off until I could do it the “right” way and well “what’s the point?” if I all of a sudden throw all that time away that I spent waiting to do it “properly” and do it some other way then continue to put it off and–
And just anxiety things, honestly.
So anyway, I have decided in all my great wisdom: “fuck it.”
I had these very specific plans and those were not working for me so I am trying a new and novel concept where I just DO a thing and I’m going to treat this blog as a place where I can do that.
So maybe there will be some entries where I talk about sewing and show how to do stuff. Maybe there will be entries where I talk about the weather and how the constant swinging temperatures are making my sinuses go crazy and, despite many people’s insistence that it’s totally not related to global warming, I talk about how it’s probably related to global warming. Maybe there will just be posts where I think you should have a lovely day and I say that–whatever it is, I’m going to attempt to just. Do the thing.
So let’s see how far we get with that. >_>
Also, no, there is no great significance between calling this post “The Nancy Approach” and talking about this. I just finished making a tiny toy Nancy-chan from Yakuza: Like A Dragon (based off of a lobster pattern from FeltKreations on Etsy) and I wanted her to be front and center. I think I will make a couple more versions of her and if I feel particularly spanky, maybe I will post some in-progress photos.
Until then, I hope anyone reading this has a lovely day and thanks for coming to my tiny pocket of the internet. <3
